Weekly Photo Challenge – Doors – Photography

07/05/2015

Cheating again?  I think not this time.  Perhaps the best known doors in the world.  Musical, theatrical, poetic, colorful, creative, aged and timeless, these doors have opened the way for many people.

Bouquet and Bee (Gaillardia) – Photography

07/03/2015

Went out yesterday looking for my Blue Heron which walked on water.  Didn’t find him, but found these pretty flowers shot from 19 feet away with a 300mm lens (that’s all I had with me).   Added the vignette through GIMP which was so painful (probably would’ve been just as painful for me in any editing software) I had to stop in the middle, go out, climb a ladder and clean my rain gutters.  Some day I’ll learn the software and happily watch the rain overflow my gutters.

The flower?  My best guess is some sort of Gaillardia (Joe Bell Flower), also known in Sweden as Flower Thingy.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Cloudscape – Sky – Muse – Photography

06/27/2015

A muse?  Hmmm…  Seldom do I think that deeply.  In fact, to generalize the last sentence, seldom do I think.  But to go along with the challenge, the sky could be my muse.  Most light comes from the sky.  Light is something that inspires photographers.  In its own right, the sky is notable as the canvas for sunrises, sunsets, weather, clouds, sun, moon and stars.  To celebrate the sky, here’s a cloudscape.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Roy G. Biv – Sunset – Photography

06/20/2015

I cheated.  Again.  Sorry.  In order to come close to the challenge I included the histogram for photo in the challenge (and a little bit of my desktop wallpaper).  So here’s the cheat and the final photo.

06/17/2015

With summer officially only a few days away, it’s usually time to go down to the river for a picnic.  Except when the creek rises and then, it’s the off-season.

Great Blue Heron – Walking On Water – Photography

06/12/2015

I’m not sure if this heron did this for fun or was just aborting his dive for a fish?  Maybe, some day, I’ll go back and watch him again.
