Spaghetti with Meatballs – Trader Joe’s Meatless Meatballs

02/05/2010 by

This is an easy one and one you probably don’t need to read.  However it does point back to the marinara sauce recipe which is what’s really important.  With a little crusty Italian bread to soak up any excess sauce on the plate, a glass of red wine, and Billy Joel playing on the stereo, it doesn’t get much better.

Shaun Of The Dead – movie review

01/30/2010 by

Two buddies trying to never grow up, share a flat (yes it is British) and somehow ineptly survive a newly infected zombie world with a surprising ending.

Simon Pegg, co-author and star,  notes, we didn’t want to make a comedy zombie movie, we wanted to make a zombie movie and comedy movie at the same time.  Whether he succeeded, of even if that’s possible, is left up to you to decide.  The end result, however, is a movie worth watching for anyone who knows what a zombie is.

King Kong (1933) – movie review

01/25/2010 by

There’s mystery in the air.  From the cargo vessel loaded with explosives, with 3 times the number of crew needed for a ship this size, planning to leave the harbor before the authorities board it in the morning, traveling to an unknown destination known only to a strange P. T. Barnum-like movie producer looking for a star for his movie in the homeless shelters, to the black and white images almost always shot in poor light  or fog with portions of the scene too dark to see into, there’s mystery in the air in what many people have on their list of all-time best movies.

WordPress – .com vs. .org – speed and freedom

Speed And Freedom

.com is sort of slow to edit                    .org is better

Speed counts. Normally we’d think of this as how fast your blog posts are served up to your readers. That hasn’t been a problem so far with either  the .com or .org version. What you’ll notice more is how slow it is to edit your posts directly on .com using the built-in editor.

Monetizing Your Blog

com is restrictive and sort of fuzzy             org is wide open

Miep Gies – Profiles In Courage

01/11/2010 by

The headline noted, Miep Gies dies at age 100. I did not, as you might not, recognize the name.  However the name next to hers I recognized. That name was Anne Frank. You may not recognize the second name either. While the opportunity is present, and before the headline passes into the ethernet (hopefully to be cached forever by Google), take a few minutes to read about both.  Here’s the url to the headline.
