Silly me.

A recent comment on my original review of this product caused me to take a closer look at the chocolate offerings at ALDI. I’m happy to say that the hazelnut and other variations of this chocolate are still available – at least where I shop. However I also noticed a “new” variation, Chocolate amargo. Upon tasting, I didn’t notice anything really different in the chocolate.
Silly me, it’s just a new package. Chocolate amargo is the Spanish translation for dark chocolate. While the translation is correct, I have to disagree with the literal translation of amargo for this chocolate. Amargo means bitter. This chocolate is not bitter. This is wonderful dark chocolate with just enough cocoa to be full of flavor but not so much to actually be bitter like some of the chocolates with cocoa floating around the 85% mark.
At 99 cents per box, the same price as 3.5 years ago, this is just an incredible bargain for some excellent dark (or amargo) chocolate. Chocolate lovers, take notice.
