The acid test for any food is whether your dog, if you have a dog, will lick your fingers and/or plate after eating something like this.  I am glad to say a dog will lick your fingers, plate, mustache, lips, . . . – well let’s just stop here in the list of what your dog may lick.

Instead of a traditional tomato sauce, this pizza uses a nice garlicky Alfredo sauce.  Little bits of spinach floating around provide a nice counterpoint to the garlicky white sauce.  Pieces of chicken are diced into rough cubes.  There are enough of them to provide a fair amount of protein.

The crust, which is usually the downfall of frozen pizzas, is more than tolerable.  While a little too thick for my liking, the crust cooks to a pretty tasty bread.  And unlike some frozen pizza crusts, it is reasonably soft and chewable around the edge.  Although bready, the crust did not overpower the pleasant taste of the toppings.  This is billed as a rising crust.  And it did rise to a certain extent.

Overall the pizza seems well worth the $3.99 price, providing a quick and very pleasant meal at home with little effort.  Like many ALDI products, this may not be available everyday.  I’m sad to note, I have not seen it in the freezer case since purchasing this one.  But when its time rolls around again, you’ll know whether you should put it in your cart.

Price  $3.99      Calories  280 per slice (1/6 of pie)

Nope. Self-rising did not happen. Crust was so off.

I see you have many products that sound amazing but if the crust is sub par than I have another 35 to 40 years to live without ever wanting to ever try another one ever again. Very, very and satisfactory crossed and a weird texture at that like eating a gnocci. Julie
