Bali Blue Moon Whole Bean Coffee – Food Review – Trader Joe’s

by

TJ_BaliBlueMoonCoffeeIf you’re the only coffee drinker in the house, stick your nose in the can for about 10 seconds each morning for a pleasant wake up.  This is one of the best smelling coffees.  There’s a brief hint of chocolate when first opened.  After that there’s a very nice aroma that actually smells like coffee and not burnt toast.  That aroma continues with each opening until the can is emptied.

The can says this is a medium roast coffee.  The beans confirm that opinion, with a medium-light brown color and a few hints of oil on them.

The first brewed taste is very pleasant.  These beans produce a really decent cup of coffee.  The can says full-bodied, rich and smooth.  The coffee is just that.  The second, third, fourth and further cups confirmed this until the can was empty.

Overall this coffee is very comparable to my current gold standard for affordable coffee, Trader Joe’s Tarrazu.  The downside is the price.  At $8.99 for a 13 ounce can it’s $2 more than the Tarrazu.
