Yes, it’s very nice that someone is here to take care of them. And that we have the chance to see them up close.

Thanks. She’s a she. I had the lucky filter turned on in the camera. A ray of bright sunshine briefly came through the tree canopy producing that sort of natural spotlight just on her head. And she, being the super model she is, turned her head to catch it perfectly. I cropped the picture some and did basic adjustments to the RAW image file similar to what the camera would do to produce a jpeg.

You might just want to leave that lucky filter on, dude!! My camera doesn’t offer that mode, so I get a lot of dud shots. You shoot in RAW? They say that’s a good idea, and I guess I better start doing that…for when I learn LightRoom. What edit tool do you use?

If you do decide to go RAW, be sure to use some sunscreen.

I use some software that came with the camera to edit the images. It’s nothing I’d recommend anyone purchase. You may have similar software that came with your camera, if you want to get an idea if it’s worth the extra trouble to process RAW files.

my camera came with no manual…I don’t even know how to shoot with it!!! I can get it online, but can’t download it. What’s up with Japanese businesses?

Welcome to the new world order,no paper manuals. The software probably would be on a CD, if they gave you any. That looks like a dead end. Does your camera even save RAW images? Many do not. Your pictures, generally, look pretty good now. You could always keep on doing what you’re doing and save yourself from a stomach ulcer?

I do not like this new world order. Give me a paper manual is what I say. My camera does do RAW images. I’ve just never used it…because it takes more space and I don’t know how to use LightRoom.

Those are two good reasons for the status quo. And probably no paper manual in LightRoom either.

HA…funny. I do have a paper book on Photoshop, but it’s so old, it’s a different version than what’s on my laptop.

But does it include LightRoom? It’s a conspiracy!

Old still works!, I keep telling myself. Sounds like you’re ready to go. You might need to add in a “profile” for your camera’s RAW format. Maybe not? All the basic functions should be there and similar to the latest version. Learning the basics will keep you plenty busy.

Right, and the good news is this: online you can buy videos instructing you how to use LR. AND…the old ones are free!!!

Free is even better. You Tube has a bunch of LR stuff also.

I was going to ask if this was in the wild, but saw from your comment that it wasn’t. Beautiful bird!

Thanks. They are beautiful. I’m hoping our local wild eagles return when the weather gets colder. I won’t get that close, but it’s fun trying. That is from a bird sanctuary where injured birds are treated and released if they’re still able to survive in the wild.

Love it! The Psalmist describes the Almighty Jehovah as an eagle covering us with his wings and stirring the nest to move us on to our fullest potential. He looks regal and menacing, yes?!!!

They are very regal looking. They look menacing, but like most birds, if you run across one in the wild, they’ll fly off in the other direction. This one was in captivity, which is the only way I’d get so close to it.
